feature-memorial-day

This whole weekend we have been remembering the sacrifices made by our military men and women to help keep us free. A terrible, necessary sacrifice. My own cousin is off somewhere, doing who knows what to ensure our freedom. I hope he is safe.

Today we had a BBQ at my cousin Dan’s house and I got to meet his lovely new wife and her two children, and to see his 3 kids again, whom I hadn’t seen in 4 years!

My other cousin Sherry, and her ex-husband, were there with their daughter. My Aunt Judy brought her delightful boyfriend, Red. My cousin, Hayleigh, and her sweet boyfriend from Bolivia were there after driving all the way home from a weekend in North Carolina.

It was a full house!

Divagirl loved her little cousin and they were like two peas in a pod.

Dan’s kids have a couple guinea pigs and a couple dwarf hamsters and Divagirl was loving on them so much. We thought she was allergic to one of them because she developed a slight rash the next day, but now I think we were mistaken. More about that in a future post.

We also celebrated Dan’s achievement of earning his college degree after working steadily on the 20-year plan – kudos!

In the end, there was tons of great food and conversation and we thoroughly wore ourselves out. It was really great to spend time with family that I don’t get to see very often.
